Registration Hours

Our office team is here to help you Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
 
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be the student's parent or legal guardian to complete the registration process.

Enrolling in the DOE for the First Time

The following information is needed for children enrolling in a Hawaiʻi public school for the first time:
  • An original copy of the birth certificate or equivalent (passport).
  • Documentation that a Tuberculin (Mantoux) test was done within 12 months before school entrance. A student will not be allowed to enter school unless this requirement has been met. This is a requirement from the Department of Health.
  • A health record (Form 14) or its equivalent. It should include the current physical examination done within a year from entry, a tuberculin test clearance, and updated immunizations.
  • Proof of Residence: Documentation by the parent or legal guardian that the child resides at an address within the school's attendance boundary.
    • Homeowners: One current utility bill AND one of the following:
      • Deed to home
      • Mortgage Statement
      • Real Property Tax Assessment
      • Escrow Papers
      • Legal Documents, if applicable
    • Renter: Current Rental/Lease Agreement and two current utility bill

Kindergarten Registration

To start kindergarten, a student must be at least 5 years old by July 31 of that school year. For more information, please review HRS 302A-1132.
 
 

Students Transferring from Another Local School

If you are moving to Kaʻimiloa from a different public school in Hawaiʻi, you need to bring two things:
  • Release Card (Form 211): You get this from your old school.
  • Proof of Residency: Documents that show you live in our school's neighborhood.
 
 

Students Transferring from a Hawaiʻi Private School or Out of State

If you are coming from a school outside of Hawaiʻi, you should try to bring a release card or withdraw documents if you have them. This helps the school get you registered and into the right classes more quickly.
 
Proof of residency (please follow guidelines listed above) is still needed.
 
 

Transferring Out of Kaʻimiloa

If you are planning to leave Kaʻimiloa, please let the front office know as soon as possible. You can call us or send a note. Telling us early helps us to get your transfer paperwork ready quickly so there are little to no delays. 
 
 

Keeping Your Records Up to Date

It is very important that we have your current contact information.  If your family moves or gets new phone number, please tell the office right away. We need this information to reach you quickly if there is ever an emergency.
 
Please notify the office if any of the following change:
  • Address
  • Phone numbers (home, work, or cell number)
  • Employment
  • Medical Insurance
  • Emergency Contacts
  • Legal Guardianship
